Technical characteristics of the MSW collection container (0.75 m³)

Type: open container for solid household waste.

Overall dimensions:

  • top — 900×900 mm;
  • bottom — 700×700 mm;
  • height — 1100 mm.

Materials and construction:

  • Base metal — sheet steel 2 mm thick (GOST 19904-90).
  • Upper edging — corner 40×40 mm, flat-shelf, hot-rolled (GOST 8509-93).
  • Side gripper — corner 50×50×3 mm, length 500 mm, indentation from the top 120 mm.
  • Lids — two, 900×400 mm in size, made of sheet or profile steel 1.2–1.5 mm thick, with handles and non-removable hinges; close towards each other.
  • Side reinforcement — corner 40×40 mm, length 100 mm.
  • Continuous caulking of all seams.
  • Supports — 4 pcs., corner 40×40×3 mm, length 50 mm, welded to the bottom.

Protective coating:

Red-brown primer GF-021 or green enamel PF-115.

Regulatory base

  • GOST 12917-70 — “Garbage bins and metal containers for household garbage and food waste” (canceled from 01.01.1986).
  • OST 22-1643-85 — “Garbage bins and metal containers for household garbage and food waste”. Clearly regulates the design of containers with a volume of 0.4–0.75 m³ and is a mandatory document for manufacturers and enterprises that install containers.
  • DSTU 8476:2015 is the current national standard of Ukraine, which defines the requirements for the production and operation of containers for household waste.

According to DSTU 8476:2015:

  • Metal containers are made of hot-rolled or cold-drawn structural steel of various thicknesses and profiles.
  • Prefabricated elements are bolted or welded in accordance with GOST 8724, GOST 9150, GOST 1759.0, GOST 5264, GOST 14771, GOST 14776 and GOST 3242.
  • Protective coatings can be: • paint (GOST 9.032, GOST 9.402, GOST 9.104); • galvanic – galvanizing (GOST 9.307); • polymer.
