The container is metal, according to EN 840-3 standards
General information and purpose of the product
The metal container of the European standard EN 840-3 is intended for the collection of solid household waste.
(WWW) and secondary raw materials (additional option). The container is a one-piece welded (hermetic) body with a bottom with a neck for liquid removal with receiving studs on both sides, the frame of the body. Rigidity ribs of the case ensure the strength of the containers when loaded with waste of 500 kg. There are brackets for holding 4 swivel wheels (two with brakes and two without brakes).
(round) lid of the container. Surface coating of the metal container: 1) primed, painted; 2) powder coating; 3) galvanized by the hot-dip galvanizing method, the coating quality corresponds to GOST 9.307-89 (ISO 1461-89).
Main parameters and characteristics
The overall dimensions of the container comply with EN 840-3.
Volume, liter | Volume, m3 | Length, mm | Width, mm | Height, mm |
770 | 0,77 | 1370 | 820 | 1425 |
1100 | 1,1 | 1370 | 1115 | 1470 |

The weight of an EN 840-3 container depends on the thickness of the metal and the coating of the container
The thickness of the body metal is 1.20 – 1.50 mm.
The thickness of the lid metal is 1.0-1.25 mm.
The weight of the container for a metal thickness of 1.2 mm is 125 kg, for a metal thickness of 2 mm – 175 kg.
The container consists of the following parts
corps
sidewall
wheels with brakes
wheels without brakes
side handles
capture bracket
cover
lid opening brackets
cover retainer
the body frame is made of steel pipe
Conditions of operation and care of containers
The container must stand in a specially equipped place (site), on a flat and hard surface, with installed brakes, with a closed lid. There must be free access to the container for dumping waste and the approach of the garbage truck. Overfilling of waste containers and places of waste accumulation near the containers is not allowed. To clean the container, it is necessary to remove the wheels from the brake, drive it to the garbage manipulator, which will hook the container to the pins (comb grip) and clean the container from waste by tipping it over. When the container is suspended on the lifting device, the lid must be closed, which means that the lid must not be opened in any case due to overloading or for other reasons. Otherwise, the cover may be damaged by parts of the lifting device.
Maintenance of containers should be carried out at least once a month, which includes:
– cleaning waste and washing the container with removal of liquid through the neck of the container;
– Check all fasteners and tighten them if they are loose;
– Checking the serviceability of the wheels;
– Checking the serviceability of the lid opening/closing mechanism;
– Checking the tightness of the container body;
– presence and serviceability of the rubber/plastic drain neck seal;
– the total weight of solid household waste should not exceed 500 kg;
– the temperature of loading waste must exceed 70 °C;
– shock loads during loading and unloading of waste are not allowed in order to avoid deformation of the container body and wheel supports;
– when loading and unloading waste into the garbage truck, it is necessary to ensure that capture
fit tightly to the container’s trunnions or the container’s comb grip;
– loading and unloading of the container should be carried out only by special equipment using lifting devices in accordance with EN 1501 standards;
– It is forbidden to burn waste inside the container;
– it is forbidden to throw/pour non-household waste, such as aggressive substances, etc.;
Transportation and storage
Containers must be transported by road, sea and rail transport in accordance with the rules of cargo transportation that apply to this mode of transport.
During loading and unloading operations and transportation, containers should not be subjected to sharp impacts, mechanical damage, and surface contamination.
The method of fastening the container to the vehicle should make it impossible to move them.
